1. Summary
Aori is designed as a local-first personal AI app. Aori does not operate a cloud backend for your app data.
Conversations, settings, memory, API keys, Personas, and local file configuration are stored on your device. When you choose a cloud AI provider or cloud integration, Aori sends the data needed for that request to the provider you selected.
2. Local App Data
Aori stores app data locally, including conversations, settings, provider configuration, Personas, routines, memory, and connected local knowledge sources.
Because Aori does not store this app data on Aori-controlled servers, we cannot recover it for you if it is deleted from your device.
3. AI Providers
When you use a cloud AI provider, Aori sends the content needed to process your request directly to that provider. This may include your prompt, relevant conversation context, selected memory snippets, file excerpts, tool results, and your provider key for authentication. The provider's own terms and privacy policy apply.
4. Skills and Integrations
Local Folder and Obsidian Vault use folders you choose on your device. Local content stays local unless you ask Aori to use it with a cloud AI provider or another external service.
Notion and Google Account are cloud integrations. Aori accesses those services through the connected account and may send relevant results to your selected AI provider when needed for your request.
Telegram and WhatsApp are optional channels. Telegram uses a bot account. WhatsApp links Aori to a real WhatsApp account you control.
5. Website Analytics
The Aori website may use Umami to understand aggregate website usage, such as page views, referrers, device/browser basics, and download-button clicks.
We do not use Umami to collect chat content, app data, API keys, local file paths, email form values, or provider responses.
6. Email Updates
Aori does not currently show an email signup form on the website. If an email list is enabled later, this policy will be updated with the mailing-list provider, purpose, and unsubscribe details before collection begins.
7. Support
If you contact us for support, we process the email address and message content you send. Do not include API keys, passwords, private prompts, files, email contents, or calendar contents unless you intentionally choose to share them for troubleshooting.
