Install on Android

Aori on Android can run in-app chat and connect to Telegram or WhatsApp. You can also use the same Aori setup alongside desktop, with conversations separated by channel and thread.

Use Google Play when the store listing is available. Install Aori, launch it, and follow onboarding.

  1. Download the Android APK from the download page.
  2. Open Android settings for your browser or file manager.
  3. Allow that app to install unknown apps.
  4. Open the downloaded APK and install Aori.
  5. Launch Aori and follow onboarding.
  1. Add your AI provider in Settings -> AI Models.
  2. Start with in-app chat.
  3. Optionally connect Telegram in Settings -> Channels.
  4. Optionally connect WhatsApp in Settings -> Channels.
  5. Optionally connect Skills such as Notion, Google Account, Local Folder, or Obsidian if available on your device.

Android may stop background services to save battery. If Aori stops responding on Telegram or WhatsApp:

  1. Open Android Settings -> Battery.
  2. Find Aori.
  3. Set battery usage to Unrestricted or disable optimization for Aori.

The exact names vary by device manufacturer.

Telegram and WhatsApp are optional. You can use both alongside in-app chat. Aori tracks separate chats and threads independently, so channel use does not merge unrelated conversations.

Telegram gives Aori a bot account. WhatsApp links Aori to a real WhatsApp account you control. We recommend using a separate SIM card and separate WhatsApp account for Aori rather than your main personal account.

iOS is planned for later and is not listed as an available download unless the download page shows an App Store or TestFlight link.
